Motives and Makeovers.

Hello Beauties!
This week I want to share with you what I did last Saturday! My friend Cortni and I decided that we were going to be vendors at a great brunch event that was being held to celebrate women! How fun, right? We set up shop at about 11:30am and the brunch started at about 12pm! It was our first event, but we had so much fun! Not only were we showing these women how great Motives Cosmetics works on all different skin tones and types, but how to work with the products too!

If you are interested in checking out the products, check out my friend's website and you can find a link to to cosmetics line! Clickity-Click Here!

The night before the event Cortni and I decided to go visit Ely! We wanted to do a fun night of pizza, wine, movies, and of course makeup! We did a mini transformation in the bathroom haha! So there are photos of the out come below too!

And of course what is a blog post without photos! Enjoy! By the way, the photos are out of order, so I sowwies! And please excuse my ammature photography skills, haha!

Until next time Beauties!

My Hairvolution!

Hello Beauties!
So yes it has been quite a while since I last blogged, I am super sorry. I know i have made promises before about blogging more often, but now that I have settled into my new place, I promises, promises, that it will now become a weekly thing! So please bare with me as I come up with ideas on what to blog about!

On this weeks edition of BeSophicated; The Blog. I'm going to show you how I ended up with accidental, yet gorgeous, purple hair!

Let me first give you the low down on my hair, or should I say how many times I have changed it in the last three months!

The beginning of January I had long dark brown hair, I then decided to chop it off, then a week later I decided to go lighter. I went to Salon Blonde in Wicker Park to get both services done. I actually paid next to nothing since I went to a apprentice! After a few week of rocking the lighter shade I really wanted to go back to having red hair, REALLY bad! I kept seeing the people around me go red, so it inspired me to do the same. So bam! I did it, haha! I always use L'oreal Reds, it says on the box that it is made "For Dark Hair". I mix it with Salon Care 40 Volume Developer. You can find both items at Sally's Beauty Supply Store. I loved my hair red, but it takes a LOT of commitment to maintain it. I wanted to try a new dye that I had heard rave reviews about, Pravana Vivids.

I did my researched and found a reputable dealer on eBay and bought a package of the Red and a package of the Violet. I wanted to add a bit of a purple shade to my red hair, hence why I purchased some Violet. After my package came in I went to my local Sally's and picked up the following!

Medium Sized Bottle Salon Care Sensitive Scalp 30 Volume Developer
Two packs of L'oreal Quick Blue Powder Bleach
Clips
A Bowl and Brush applicator
A Measuring Cup

I first bleached my hair to help everything come out more evenly. After mixing the bleach I applied it to my hair, then my roots, then wrapped my hair in a plastic bag to let the heat from my head process the bleach faster. I let it sit for about 40 minutes, washed my hair with shampoo only and let it air dry. I then used the whole tube or Pravana red and half of the Pravana Violet, applied it onto my hair and let that sit for 30 minutes. Please make sure that you wear gloves at all times. Even when you are in the shower washing out the Pravana dye. If you have more gloves on hand, use them EVERYtime you wash your hair. It stains your hands like crazy! Also make sure that you hydrate your hair after everything!!

Here are the photos to show you the process my hair went through.

Until next time Beauties!
